      Press Registration
      Email: press@imf.org

If such credentials are not held, or are in question, it will be at the discretion of the World Bank Group and the IMF to determine whether access to the Annual Meetings is granted.

Online Press Registration

Journalists who meet the requirements above should register on-line at https://www-amsweb-ext.imf.org/press-ext/reg.aspx

Registration for press credentials will close on Saturday, October 10, 2015.

The World Bank Group (WBG) or the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will not be responsible for journalists' travel costs and/or any other expenses.

Visa Requirements

Accredited Journalists traveling from overseas to cover the Annual Meetings, who are not citizens or permanent residents of Peru, must contact and make arrangements with the Peruvian Embassy/Consulate in their country. In the absence of a Peruvian embassy or a consulate in their home country, journalists may request visas through the online visa system, via the following link: http://VisasJuntasBM-FMI.rree.gob.pe.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after verification of all requirements by applicants, will issue an "Official e-Visa" to allow them to easily board their airlines and enter the country. The following must be provided:

The following must be provided:

  • Journalist Visa Form.

  • Valid Passport, with minimum validity of six months (copy of the identification page).

  • Two color photographs (facing forward, with a white background, including (uncovered) head and shoulders).

  • Letter from the institution that the journalist represents.

  • Letter confirming registration as accredited Press.

Even though a journalist, because of citizenship, may not require a visa to enter to the country, the journalist visa will facilitate press accreditation and temporary entry of equipment. (see more below)

Professional equipment:

To bring professional equipment, journalists need to file a Temporary Import Form for professional equipment and materials (cameras, audio equipment, etc.), which can be downloaded here.

The equipment, in principle, has to enter the country with the journalist. However, if a journalist needs to send the equipment earlier or bring it back later, the same tax and customs treatment can be applied as long as it is established, with the Passport or official document, that the baggage arrived in the country one (1) month before and up to six (6) months after the date of arrival of the passenger. This should be indicated on the list of equipment accompanying the visa application with the arrival date of the passenger and the arrival / departure date of the equipment.

Press Credentials Pick-Up

Journalists who have been approved for accreditation can pick up credentials starting 8:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, at the Press Registration Desk, located in the Biblioteca Nacional. You are required to present press credentials and photo identification.

The Annual Meetings press credentials grant access to the Press Room, press conferences, briefings in the Museo de la Nación and panel debates in the Museo and the Gran Teatro Nacional. In order to access meetings or offices in the Centro de Convenciones or the Banco de la Nacion, accredited press should be escorted by WBG or IMF staff.

Representatives of Civil Society Organizations should visit Information for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for details on CSO accreditation.

Press Room Arrangements

The Press Room is located on the third floor of the Museo de la Nación, Avenida Javier Prado este 2465, San Borja, and will open at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, and close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015.

Technicians for financial news wires and other accredited news organizations may arrange for advance access to the press room.

The press room has limited space, and operates on a first come, first-served basis. Each desk will be equipped with power outlets. The Press Room provides wireless (Wi-Fi) access for personal electronic devices (laptops, smart phones, tablets,… etc.). For further information regarding telecommunications arrangements, please contact Franco Valle (fvalle@mef.gob.pe.)

Computers are not provided to journalists. However, a limited number of internet kiosks will be available in the lobby of the Museo. The Internet kiosks allow easy access to the WBG and the IMF web sites. The web sites will have links to a joint Annual Meetings' site containing the schedule of press events, as well as transcripts, news releases, and other information as it becomes available.

Interview Requests

The WBG and IMF media relations' divisions handle requests for interviews with WBG and IMF officials during the Meetings. However, the press officers do not service interview requests for official delegations to the Meetings. Those requests must be made directly to the delegations and/or their media representatives.

Availability of Still Photos and Video Clips

A selection of still photos in high resolution will be available after each event on the Meetings web site and on http://www.flickr.com/photos/worldbank and www.flickr.com/photos/imfphoto. Download and use of images are free of charge, but must be credited to the listed photographer and organization when published online or in print.

In addition, broadcast quality video clips of selected press conferences will be available for downloading on http://mediacenter.imf.org/ and on www.un.org/unifeed. This service is free of charge.
