Ana Mihaylova Economist |
| Biographical Information | |
| Ana Mihaylova is the local economist at the IMF office in Bulgaria, which she joined in 2007. She has degrees in economics, including a Magister in Public Finance, from the University for National and World Economy in Sofia. She came to the IMF office with an extensive experience at Bulgaria’s Ministry of Finance—including as head of the Budget Policy Division—and more recently as Commercial Officer at the Netherlands Embassy in Bulgaria. |

Albert Jaeger Division Chief, Southeastern III Division, European Department |
| Mr. Albert Jaeger, an Austrian citizen, is the mission chief for Bulgaria and Romania since August 2007. Since 1992 he has been at the IMF, where he has had a wide range of assignments. He started as an economist in the Fiscal Affairs Department, and then, in 1999, moved to the European Department, where he first worked at the German desk, and then joined the EU Policies Division. He became the head of that division in 2003. His most recent assignment—from 2004 to 2007—was as mission chief for Ukraine. Prior to joining the Fund, he was an academic at Vienna University and at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) in Vienna. Mr. Jaeger studied economics at the University of Innsbruck—where he obtained his Doctorate in 1986—and at the IAS. He was a visiting Fellow at Princeton University in 1988-89. His published work has focused on asset price cycles and fiscal policy, monetary policy in the euro-zone, aging and public pensions, private savings behavior, and forecasting private consumption. |
