  • The IMF opened a Resident Representative Office in August, 2004. The incumbent is Mr. Erik Offerdal.
  • In 2005, the Dominican Republic formally joined the IMF´s General Data Dissemination System, thus pledging to follow the international standards and codes, and to provide information about the procedures for the production and dissemination of economic, financial, and socio-demographic data.

Technical Assistance

Since the beginning of 2004, the IMF has provided extensive technical assistance to the Dominican Republic in the statistical area (national accounts, balance of payments, and monetyary statistics), fiscal policy (tax policy and administration, expenditure management, and public financial management), and financial sector issues (bank restructuring and supervision, assest recovery, and central bank recapitalization).
