Arab Republic of Egypt and the IMF
Updated August 21, 2017

On July 13, 2017, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the first review of the three-year extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Executive Board's approval allowed for an immediate purchase of SDR 895.48 million (or about $1.25 billion). The Board's discussion was based on a staff report prepared by a staff team of the IMF, following discussions with the officials of Egypt on economic developments and policies underpinning the EFF.

The authorities need more time to consider the publication of the staff report
