December 08, 2009 -- IMF Survey: IMF Supports Samoa After Tsunami Devastates Nation
The IMF approves a loan of $9.3 million to help spur recovery and reconstruction in Samoa following the September 2009 earthquake and tsunami, which severely damaged the island nation. The assistance will bolster reserves and help cover expected shortfalls in export earnings.
