Between 2002 and 2006, he worked as an economist in the Monetary and Capital Markets, Western Hemisphere, and Middle East and Central Asia departments of the IMF. He was an economist in the research department at La Caixa in Barcelona between 2006 and 2008. After rejoining the IMF, he also worked in the Research Department.
