Damiano Sandri is an Economist in the Macro-Financial Unit of the IMF Research Department. Before joining the Research Department, he worked in the European Department, participating to Article IV missions to Germany, United Kingdom, Norway and Slovakia. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Johns Hopkins University and his research interests are in international macroeconomics and financial intermediation. He has published in several academic journals, among which the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Journal of Development Economics, the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the IMF Economic Review, Economic Policy and has written several analytical chapters of the World Economic Outlook.
