Content and structure
Scope and content: Series consists of records generated as the External Relations Department Immediate Office (EXRAI) maintained relationships with various international organizations. There are files for conferences sponsored by the international organizations and files reflecting the IMF's membership on committees, or role in other interactions. Records include: correspondence, memoranda, reports, press releases, pamphlets, brochures, newsletters, and newspaper clippings. Subjects of notable interest or prevalent in the files include: the United Nations (UN) and IMF relationship with South Africa as Apartheid ended; as well as the IMF's participation in the Joint United Nations Information Committee (JUNIC). Series is arranged in alphabetical order.

Note: Arrangement Note: Earlier files were part of the Subject series, but, because EXRAI began to file International Organization files as a separate series at some point with the files appearing at the end of their rough classification scheme, the earlier and later files were grouped together into a separate series by the archivist.
