Macroeconomist with expertise in monetary and exchange rate policies, financial stability, macro-prudential analysis, monetary and public financial management. Currently Chief of the Financial Institutions Division in the IMF's Statistics Department. Previously, held positions in the African Department, the Monetary and Exchange Affairs Department, the Monetary and Financial Systems Department, and the Office of the Managing Director. Represented the IMF at the Financial Stability Forum Secretariat (the precursor of the Financial Stability Board) in Basel, Switzerland, during 2002-2004. Research interests include: policy responses to financial crises; cross-border large and complex financial institutions; offshore financial centers; Islamic Banking and Finance; international trade.
