The course covers concepts and definitions, data sources, and techniques for the compilation of Financial Soundness Indicators (FSIs) that serve to support macroprudential analysis. It discusses how the analysis of financial soundness is served by the logic of the construction of the indicators, and it covers the fundamental aspects of the construction of FSIs (such as coverage, aggregation, consolidation, valuation) as contained in the Compilation Guide for Financial Soundness Indicators. There is also discussion of general dissemination issues for FSIs. The topics are covered through lectures and workshops (hands-on exercises on the compilation of FSIs).
