Press Release: IMF Managing Director Rodrigo de Rato's Statement on the Bombings in Bali, Indonesia

Mr. Rodrigo de Rato, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), made the following statement in Washington, D.C., on October 2:
"On behalf of the International Monetary Fund, I offer my deepest condolences to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and the people of Indonesia for the terrorist attack yesterday in Bali. Our sympathies are with the families of those innocent people who lost their lives in the tragedy. The attack in Bali, which claimed the lives of 19 people from different nationalities, is a reminder to the international community that terrorism remains a threat. As the head of a collaborative international institution, the IMF will continue do its part in the effort to counter terrorism."
