Statement by the IMF Mission at the Conclusion of a Visit to RwandaPress Release No. 14/307

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Mr. Paulo Drummond visited Kigali during June 19-26.
Discussions focused on the implementation of previous IMF technical assistance recommendations in the area of tax policy to help the authorities develop their medium-term revenue mobilization strategy. They also covered identification, monitoring, and management of potential sources of fiscal risks and vulnerabilities. Finally, together with the authorities, the mission began to lay the groundwork for the Article IV consultation that will take place in October 2014.
The mission met with Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Amb. Claver Gatete, National Bank of Rwanda Governor Hon. John Rwangombwa and other senior officials, as well as business representatives and development partners.
