Building the Future Campaign
Are you concerned about high youth unemployment rates, economic fairness and opportunities?
We would like to hear from YOU!
After all, as the Arab world searches for an economic vision for the future, whom better to consult than those most impacted—the Arab youth? In this spirit, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) invites you to participate in its “Building the Future Campaign.” #BuildingFuture
On May 11-12, the IMF will co-host a regional conference in Amman, Jordan to discuss opportunities and challenges for the Arab world. Policymakers, representatives from the private sector, civil society, academia and the youth will have an open dialog on issues such as macroeconomic policy priorities, transparency and governance, tackling unemployment, and improving the business climate.
Your photos and input will be featured during the conference and two of you will be invited to Amman to participate in the discussions. All of you will have an opportunity to watch the high-level panels of policy makers on May 12 via a live web-cast.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Meet the eligibility requirements (see below);
- Be a Facebook member; and
- Answer the following question by submitting a photograph of you holding up a sheet of paper with your statement on it.
You can participate in English, French or Arabic.
In English:

SUBMISSION DEADLINE & SELECTION DATE
Submissions will be accepted beginning April 7, 2014 and until April 30, 2014 [at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time].
The selection of participants in the conference will be announced on May 3, 2014.
However, the debate will not be over and we look forward to hearing from you in the future.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY
- Write clearly or type your answer on a sheet of paper.
- Take a picture of yourself holding up the paper.
- Upload your photo onto our Facebook Page
Eligibility
Participants must be 18 - 35 years old and from the Middle East and North Africa.
IMF employees and their families may not participate.
SELECTION CRITERIA & TRAVEL TO AMMAN
The selection will be based on the popularity and the impact of the message submitted.
Those selected will be provided with economy class travel to Amman, Jordan and hotel accommodations for two nights.
