International Financial Statistics on CD-ROM

IFS on CD-ROMThe IFS Database and Browser on CD-ROM is keyed closely to the printed issues of IFS. It also contains historical data presented with a greater degree of precision than in the printed issues. Quarterly and monthly entries generally begin in 1957, and most annual entries begin in 1948. The CD-ROM incorporates a Windows-based browser facility, as well as the flat file of the database in scientific notation. The browser software provides a familiar and easy-to-use Windows interface for browsing the database, selecting series of interest, displaying the selected series in a spreadsheet format, and saving the selected series for transfer to other software systems, such as Microsoft Excel.

Balance of Payments Statistics on CD-ROM

BOP Statistics on CD-ROMThe BOPS Database and Browser on CD-ROM has adapted the Balance of Payments Statistics Yearbook; therefore, it contains balance of payments and international investment position data of individual countries, regional and world totals for major components of the balance of payments, and descriptions of methodologies, compilation practices, and data sources used by selected reporting countries. In addition to corresponding series and tables within the Balance of Payments Statistics Yearbook, the BOPS CD-ROM contains data as reported by the balance of payments correspondents to the IMF Statistics Department. The BOPS Database and Browser on CD-ROM incorporates a Windows-based browser facility, as well as the flat file of the database in scientific notation. The new browser software provides a familiar and easy-to-use Windows interface for browsing the database, selecting series of interest, displaying the selected series in a spreadsheet format, and saving the selected series for transfer to other software systems, such as Microsoft Excel.

Direction of Trade Statistics on CD-ROM

Direction of Trade Statistics on CD-ROMDeriving its source data from the Direction of Trade Statistics, the DOTS Database and Browser on CD-ROM provides an easy-to-use interface for browsing the database, selecting series of interest, displaying the selected series in spreadsheet format, and saving the selected series for transfer to other software systems such as Microsoft Excel. Data are available for approximately 180 countries from 1980 onwards and include estimated data from 1981. It includes four views for browsing the database; a table view corresponding to the tables contained within the Direction of Trade Statistics Yearbook; an economic concept view that provides access to similar concepts across countries, to the extent that they exist; a cross-country matrix view; and a search mechanism based on the structure of the time series key.

The database can be accessed interactively, via an easy-to-use Window interface for browsing, or directly—via the "flat" file—stored in scientific notation format.

Government Finance Statistics on CD-ROM

Government Finance Statistics on CD-ROM

The Government Finance Statistics on CD-ROM contains time series from 1990 onwards using the Government Finance Statistics Manual 2001 framework. The CD-ROM is issued quarterly, and updated as new data are received and time series become available. The CD-ROM incorporates a Windows-based browser facility for accessing the database, selecting specific data series, displaying the selected series in an spreadsheet format, and saving the selected series for transfer to other software systems, such as Microsoft Excel.

A new matrix view, the Integrated Statement of Flows and Stocks, was added to the Government Finance Statistics on CD-ROM in March 2006. The Integrated Statement of Flows and Stocks complements the existing country table views (by classification of transactions and by subsector) and economic concept view, as well as the current matrix view that supplements the presentation in the Government Finance Statistics Yearbook (GFSY). By breaking down the total assets and total liabilities into their constituent components and establishing the sources of changes in them from one period to another in terms of transactions and other economic flows, the framework provides a strong statistical explanation of the factors underlying the change in the net worth of government.
