### Purpose and scope
- The IMF Data Privacy Office receives complaints from individuals who believe that processing of their personal data by the IMF violated their rights mentioned in the Privacy Notice or any of the terms of the Privacy Notice.
- Complaints must be submitted in English.
- The IMF Data Privacy Office uses the information provided in the form for handling the complaint and may request additional supporting documents or clarifications.

### Procedural steps and time considerations (Explanatory Notes)
- The complaint process comprises three phases:

  Phase 1: Submit complaint form to the IMF Data Privacy Office
  - Provide your details and details of your authorized representative, if applicable.
  - State your complaint.
  - Time consideration: You will need to submit your complaint within 120 calendar days of the date you become aware of the Data Privacy Office’s decision regarding your Access Request, Rectification Request, or Objection, or the IMF’s failure to process your Personal Data according to the terms of the Privacy Notice, whichever is earlier.

  Phase 2: The IMF Data Privacy Office may ask for additional information to help process your complaint
  - The IMF Data Privacy Office may ask you or your authorized representative for supporting documents to verify your identity or authority of the authorized representative (if any).
  - The IMF Data Privacy Office may ask for clarification in cases where the complaint seems unclear or unspecific. Provide additional information requested to enable processing.

  Phase 3: Processing of complaint and response
  - The IMF Data Privacy Office will acknowledge receipt of your complaint and will respond in writing and in English to the complainant or its authorized representative (if any).
  - The IMF Data Privacy Office will decide on your complaint, as applicable, within 30 calendar days unless they notify you that they need an additional 30 days due to the complexity of your complaint or overall number of submissions that they are responding to.
  - The written decision of the Data Privacy Office will be sent by the same method used to make the submission to the Data Privacy Office.
  - The IMF Data Privacy Office may refuse complaints as outlined in the Privacy Notice stating the reasons.
