Kleopatra Nikolaou is a Senior Financial Stability Expert at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), where she regularly contributes to the Global Financial Stability Report and works on assessing systemic risks and promoting financial resilience. Before her tenure at the IMF, Kleopatra served as an Advisor to the European Central Bank's (ECB) Permanent Representative in Washington. Her extensive experience also includes acting Chief roles at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, where she focused on US short-term funding markets, and earlier positions within the ECB's Monetary Policy Stance Division, including work for missions to Ireland, Portugal and Greece from 2010 to 2013.
Kleopatra holds a PhD in International Finance and an MSc in Economics and Finance from Warwick Business School, UK, as well as a BSc in European and International Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
