None required - some functional experience on systemic risk identification and monitoring is required.

Course Description

Part I: An introduction to the framework of systemic financial risk assessment. Risk monitoring frameworks, risk dashboards and early warning systems.
Part 2: Case studies - presentation on the relevant frameworks and infrastructure form central bank's experts. Indicator selection, quantification challenges and application oversight.
Part 3: Adaptation for the domestic market - discussion on additional data requirements and implementation challenge.

Course Objectives

To provide a bird's eye view on what is the state of the art on systemic risk monitoring frameworks, disseminate information on how central banks are implementing and extending their monitoring frameworks (both in terms of design, implementation and policy use) and discuss with the participants the challenges of implementing such systems for China.
