Government Finance Statistics

Volume XXI (1997) of the Government Finance Statistics Yearbook contains statistical data on government financial operations for 112 IMF member countries. Detailed annual data (extending through 1995 or 1996 for most countries) are presented on revenue, expenditure, and financing transactions. All data conform to standards set forth in A Manual on Government Finance Statistics and are comparable from country to country. This yearbook provides data on budgetary operations, extrabudgetary operations, social security transactions, and consolidated financial operations of central governments. When available, data are also presented for state and local governments. Institutional tables list information on government units. A section of the Government Finance Statistics Yearbook is devoted to a cross-country presentation of data classified by topic.
