### Course overview
- Title: National Accounts Statistics (NASx)
- The course introduces compiling national accounts statistics based on the System of National Accounts, 2008 (2008 SNA) framework.
- Covers the sequence of national accounts, the accounting rules, and the key macroeconomic aggregates in the SNA framework.
- Teaches how to estimate volume measures of value added.

### Topics covered
- Sequence of national accounts and accounting rules under the 2008 SNA.
- Key macroeconomic aggregates in the SNA framework.
- Three measures of GDP:
  - the production approach
  - the income approach
  - the expenditure approach
- Methods and data sources for estimating GDP and volume measures of value added.

### Target audience and qualifications
- Target audience:
  - Persons interested in learning how to compile national accounts statistics or in using the statistics for macroeconomic analysis.
- Qualifications:
  - Some knowledge of economics and statistics or equivalent experience is useful.

### Course objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the SNA framework and identify the key macroeconomic indicators.
- Define the components of GDP from the production, expenditure and income approaches.
- Apply the concepts, accounting rules, methods, and data sources necessary to estimate GDP.
