- Qualifications:
  - Participants are expected to have an advanced degree in economics or finance or equivalent work experience.
  - It is strongly recommended that applicants first complete the Financial Sector Policies (FSP) course.

### Target audience
- Mid-level to senior officials from the central bank and other government agencies dealing with regulation of the financial sector.
- Preference is given to applicants working on issues directly related to financial development and inclusion, as well as supervision and regulation of new financial technologies.

### Course description and thematic coverage
- Purpose:
  - Presented by the Institute for Capacity Development to give participants a foundation in understanding new financial technologies (fintech) and the associated policy implications.
- Core thematic areas:
  - Overview of the fintech landscape.
  - Fintech payments.
  - Fintech funding.
  - Crypto assets and decentralized finance.
- Approach:
  - Discussion of risks arising from fintech developments in the above areas and exploration of possible policy responses.
  - Use of extensive case studies and group work to provide practical experience applicable to participants' jobs.
