      "content": "- The workshop is described as a four-day workshop designed to provide participants from India States with techniques and tools to identify areas for improvement in their public finance systems.\n- Geared to finance department and budget staff responsible for medium-term and annual financial planning and fiscal risk management and staff responsible for considering capital spending proposals.\n- Aims to help participants understand how:\n  - strategic budgeting,\n  - public investment management, and\n  - fiscal risk management\n  can help improve effective decision making and improve service delivery leading to more active and efficient use of financial resources.\n- Teaching methods include lectures, exercises, and groupwork to ensure participants gain practical experience useful for their jobs.\n- Hands-on sessions include:\n  - preparing budget statements using tagging methodologies, and\n  - undertaking self-assessments against the IMF Public Investment Management Assessment (PIMA) framework to reflect how their own processes compare against best practice."

      "content": "- Raise awareness and understanding of the importance of strong public financial management (PFM) practices in participants' systems.\n- Specific topics the workshop will look at:\n  - the rationale for PFM reform.\n  - adopting a more strategic budget process that is informed by analytical forecasting techniques.\n  - how to improve accountability and transparency.\n  - understand green PFM and climate considerations.\n  - how procurement and commitment controls can improve cash forecasting and budget execution.\n  - provide an understanding of fiscal risk management, including how to assess risk from Public Sector Undertakings.\n  - and improving efficiency of public investment."
