      "content": "- The course is designed to strengthen participants' ability to comprehensively assess a country's macroeconomic situation, including:\n  - the current state of the economy;\n  - the stance of fiscal and monetary policy;\n  - financial stability;\n  - vulnerabilities in the different sectors;\n  - the medium-term outlook, including the management and sustainability of public debt.\n- The course also discusses other key policy issues such as the goods and service tax, public debt management, fiscal risks and challenges with compiling statistical data.\n- Emphasis:\n  - Practical tools for use in day-to-day macroeconomic analysis and their application to Indian data.\n  - Use of relevant case studies to illustrate application of tools and contribution to the policymaking process."

      "content": "- Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:\n  - Analyze the four main macroeconomic sectors (real, fiscal, external, and monetary) and their interlinkages including macro-fiscal and macro-financial aspects, and how to diagnose macroeconomic imbalances.\n  - Assess the stance of current fiscal and monetary policy and fiscal sustainability,\n  - Understand major issues in public debt management in India and the public finances of India and its states.\n  - Understand macro-financial linkages and developments in the financial sector to assess risks to financial stability.\n  - Understand major issues in public financial management and fiscal risks, goods and service tax system in India, and challenges and data gaps in compilation of national accounts in India."
