### Fraud alert regarding scam letters
- Alert: Several variants of financial scam letters purporting to be sanctioned by the IMF or authored by high ranking IMF officials are in circulation.
- Modus operandi described:
  - Scam letters may appear on official letterhead containing the IMF logo.
  - Scams instruct potential victims to contact the IMF for issuance of a “Certificate of International Capital Transfer” or other approvals to receive large sums.
  - Contact e-mail information in the scams is described as BOGUS.
  - Unsuspecting individuals are requested to send personal banking details that scammers use for fraudulent activities.
