- Daniel Gurara, Resident Representative.
- Petronella Chishawa, Economist.
  - Petronella Chishawa is a local economist. She joined the office in November 2014.
  - Prior to joining the IMF’s local office, she served the Government of Zimbabwe as a Principal Economist at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development where she worked for 9 years.
  - Education: MSc. Degree in international trade policy and trade law; Post Graduate Diploma in international trade policy and law from Lund University, Sweden; BSc. Honors’ Degree in economics from the University of Zimbabwe.
- Andrew Ziswa, Economist.
  - Andrew Ziswa is a local economist. He joined the office in December 2023.
  - Prior experience: Steward Bank, ZB Bank, the International Organization for Migration, and the Government of Zimbabwe in the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises.
  - Education and credentials: MSc. Degree in Finance and Investment from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe; BComm in Economics from the Midlands State University; Associate of the Institute of Bankers Zimbabwe (AIOBZ).
- Danai Chihota, Administrative Assistant.
  - Danai Chihota is the Administrative Assistant at the IMF’s local office, having joined in June 2025.
  - Experience: over 15 years as an administrator and office manager in the private sector.
  - Education and current studies: degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Marketers Association in South Africa; currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Zimbabwe.
- James Rusike, Office Driver.
  - James Rusike is the driver in the IMF’s local office. He joined the IMF in 2016.
  - Prior government service: started his career as a pool driver, and was a VIP driver in various government offices for 8 years.

  - After a strong 2025 with growth at 4.5%, Sub-Saharan Africa entered 2026 reaping the benefits of hard-won stabilization gains.
  - The war in the Middle East has clouded the outlook.
  - Regional growth is expected to decline by 0.2 percentage points to 4.3 percent in 2026.

### Public alert on fraudulent communications
- The IMF warns that several variants of financial scam letters purporting to be sanctioned by the International Monetary Fund or authored by high ranking IMF officials are currently in circulation.
- Scam characteristics:
  - May appear on official letterhead containing the IMF logo.
  - Instruct potential victims to contact the IMF for issuance of a “Certificate of International Capital Transfer” or other approvals to enable them to receive large sums of monies as beneficiaries.
  - Contact e-mail information is always BOGUS and victims are requested to send personal banking details which scammers use for fraudulent activities.
