Martin Schindler

Martin Schindler currently is Deputy Division Chief and Mission Chief in the African Department. During his career, he has contributed to the IMF’s surveillance, lending, analytical and capacity development work, covering low-income, emerging and advanced economies on four continents. He is the lead editor of the IMF book on Jobs and Growth: Supporting the European Recovery and co-editor of the IMF book on How to Achieve Inclusive Growth; he has also published in the fields of monetary and labor economics, economic growth and financial integration in leading economic journals, including the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of International Economics, the European Economic Review, and the IMF Economic Review, among others. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
