Ippei Shibata is an economist on Portugal desk in the European Department at the International Monetary Fund. He has previously worked in the Research Department, the Western Hemisphere Department and the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago. His research interests are in Macro Labor Economics and Applied Macroeconomics.
