Biographical Information

Chris’s appointment is effective October 13, 2015. While Director of CSF, Chris also retains his role of Head of the HQ1 Renewal Task Force, which will remain a separate unit under management oversight.

A South African national, Chris joined the Fund in 1995. He spent a large part of his career in the Finance Department, where he was appointed Deputy Director in 2011. During his time in FIN, Chris also served as the IMF’s Chief Accountant, with responsibility for overseeing the IMF’s financial operations and reporting, and the IMF’s safeguards assessments of central banks. In 2013, Chris moved to TGS as Deputy Director, and in March this year, he moved to the Office of the Managing Director as Head of the HQ1 Renewal Task Force. Chris has graduate degrees in Accounting and Finance, is a Chartered Accountant, and a Chartered Financial Analyst. Prior to joining the Fund, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in South Africa, where he was a Senior Assurance Manager. He was also a member of faculty at the University of Cape Town. Chris has also worked for the International Finance Corporation.

To best serve the Fund’s business partners, CSF leverages their specialized knowledge, best practices, and innovation to continually adapt and respond to changing business requirements and to integrate our activities seamlessly into the work programs of the Fund. These activities range from day-to-day transactions to large scale undertakings in areas that include Facilities, Hospitality, Interpretation & Language Translations, Joint Bank-Fund Library, Multimedia, Procurement, Security, and Transportation.
