Managing Volatility in Low-Income Countries


The IMF and the International Growth Centre (with hubs in LSE and Oxford University) conference will examine policy options to mitigate and manage risks associated with economic volatility and crises in low-income countries.

It will focus on three themes: (i) identifying shocks and their costs (9:30-10:30 am); (ii) building policy, institutional and reserve buffers (10:45 am -12:30 pm); and (iii) macroeconomic insurance (2-3:45pm), with a panel discussion concluding the event (4:00-5.30 pm).
