Data_all   		data for all countries;
Data_ind		data for industrial countries;
Data_dev		data for developing and transition economies.

Each data file contains series for the following variables:

EX			bilateral exports, in millions of U.S. dollars
DIST			distance between the respective countries, in miles
POPEX		population of the exporting country, in millions
POPIM		population of the importing country, in millions
GDPEX	 	GDP per capita of the exporting country, in thousands of U.S. dollars
GDPIM	 	GDP per capita of the importing country, in thousands of U.S. dollars
TAR		 	100 + tariff rate for the importing country, in percent 
CCI		 	index of controls on current payments and transfers, fraction
KCI		 	index of capital controls, fraction
ECI			index of exchange and capital controls, fraction

Data for all variables, except population and tariff rates, refer to 1996; data on population and tariff rates are for the latest available year.
