Charles Cohen is deputy chief in the Debt Capital Markets division of the Monetary and Capital Market Departments. He joined the International Monetary Fund in 2017, focusing on debt market and financial stability issues. He was previously at the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Stability Oversight Council. Prior to that, he worked at Bain Capital Credit, in corporate and sovereign debt portfolio management, and also at the Boston Consulting Group. He has wide-ranging private and public sector experience in financial markets analysis and financial stability policy and regulatory issues. Charles has a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and Stanford University.
