Longmei Zhang is a senior economist in the IMF’s Asia and Pacific Department and served as the IMF Deputy Resident Representative for China during 2017-20. Her research covers a wide range of topics, including long-term growth, financial frictions and business cycles, macroprudential policy, digital economy, and Fintech. She co-edited a book on The Future of China’s Bond Market in 2019 and served as the Citi Visiting Chair at Schwarzman College Tsinghua University in 2020. She is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and holds a PhD in Economics from Goethe University Frankfurt.
