VITARA - Enterprise Risk Management (VITARA-ERM)
This eight-hour course aims to build knowledge and understanding of how adopting a systematic approach to ERM supports tax administrations to achieve their overall goals successfully. The course includes practical tools, methodologies and templates that can greatly facilitate and accelerate the design and implementation of ERM in tax administrations.
The course is a joint initiative of four international organizations: Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Target Audience
Executives and senior managers responsible for the overall management of a tax administration as well as any functional staff who are responsible for the development and implementation of an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, and implicated functions such as planning, research and internal audit.
Qualifications
There are no prerequisites. Access to a computer with a reliable Internet connection and a Google Chrome web browser is essential.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the benefits of ERM.
- Master the basics of ERM.
- Explain how ERM differs from traditional risk management.
- Describe ERM frameworks such as ISO and COSO.
- Define key governance arrangements.
- Set out the main components of an ERM policy.
- Delineate the ERM process.
