News Brief: IMF Managing Director Köhler's Statement on Turkey

IMF Managing Director Horst Köhler said in Washington, D.C. today:
"I convened yesterday a meeting of the Executive Board to discuss Turkey's economic program. The Board expressed strong support for the program and commended the Turkish authorities for their efforts in implementing the program's measures. Although final details of the program still need to be resolved, the IMF stands ready to support Turkey on its way to economic recovery. Additional financing from the IMF and the World Bank in support of the program would be in the order of US$10 billion."
