Press Release: Brunei Darussalam Joins the IMF

Brunei Darussalam today became a member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The IMF's Articles of Agreement were signed in Washington D.C. by His Excellency Dato Ahmad Wally Skinner, Deputy Minister of Finance of Brunei Darussalam.

Brunei Darussalam's initial quota1 in the IMF is SDR150.0 million (about $224 million). With the admission of Brunei Darussalam, membership in the IMF totals 180 countries, and the total of members' quotas is SDR 145,104.4 million (about $216,834 million).
