Statement by the IMF Mission to TurkeyPress Release No. 09/14

An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission headed by Ms. Rachel van Elkan visited Turkey during January 8-26 to continue discussions on a new IMF Stand-By Arrangement in support of the Turkish authorities' economic program. At the conclusion of the mission in Ankara, Ms. van Elkan made the following statement:
"The mission and the authorities made significant progress in a number of key areas. In the coming weeks, the IMF team and the authorities will continue their dialogue with a view to finalizing the remaining issues pertaining, in particular, to the medium-term structural fiscal reform agenda."
