This workshop is aimed at management and staff whose responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, quantifying and mitigating fiscal risks. This includes management and staff of Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs, entities with oversight responsibilities for state owned enterprises and public private partnerships, other government management and staff with responsibilities relating to public investment management, climate change, and other areas of fiscal risk activities.
This workshop will introduce the concept of fiscal risks, explain the process to identify, analyze and quantify the risks, and discuss methods of risk mitigation. The workshop will introduce the IMF's Fiscal Risk Assessment Tool. Participants will be given hands-on training in using the tool for a comprehensive analysis of fiscal risks in their countries. Concepts will be illustrated using country and regional examples on fiscal risks. Contents of a Statement of Fiscal Risk-to be released with the budget-will be discussed, their information sources identified.
