Overview of the disclosure policy and history

• The IMF introduced a system of ethical conduct certification and financial disclosure in April 2000.
• The system has been updated on several occasions.
• In June 2023, the IMF decided to publish summary statements of the financial assets and interests reported by the Managing Director and the Deputy Managing Directors through the Fund’s annual (confidential) financial disclosure program.
• The decision became effective at the end of calendar year 2023, with the conclusion of the financial disclosure submission and review process for calendar year 2022.

Scope and publication timing

• Summary statements will be available on the Fund’s external website:
  • for the duration of the appointment of the Managing Director and two years thereafter; and
  • for the duration of the appointment of each Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and six months thereafter.
