Christophe Waerzeggers is a tax lawyer and senior counsel in the Financial and Fiscal Law Unit of
the IMF’s Legal Department. Before joining the IMF, he was a lecturer in
tax and comparative tax law at Utrecht University, the Netherlands, and a
guest lecturer at various universities around the world, including Sydney
Law School in Australia, the Norwegian School of Management, the Centre
d’Etudes et de Recherches sur le Développement International in
Clermont-Ferrand (France), and the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He
also worked as a short-term expert for the IMF, providing tax legal
drafting assistance to a wide variety of IMF member countries, and as a tax
consultant for the World Bank and DFID. He holds LLMs in law and tax law
from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium
