Luis Brandão-Marques

Luis Brandao Marques is a Deputy Chief in the Advanced Economies Unit of the European Department. He is working on the euro area and on department-wide analytical work on monetary policy. He previously worked at the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department. He has taught at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Porto, and worked as a corporate banker, in Portugal. He has published in the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester.
