Samuel Pienknagura is Deputy Division Chief in the Structural and Climate Policies Division in the IMF’s Research Department. Before joining the IMF, he was a Senior Economist at the World Bank. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an undergraduate degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Samuel’s research focuses on how structural and macroeconomic policies affect economic performance and has been published, among others, in the Journal of International Economics, the World Bank Economic Review and the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking.
