Sandra Lizarazo

Sandra Lizarazo is a Senior Economist in the IMF’s Fiscal Affairs Department. Previously, she worked at Strategy, Policy, and Review Department, also at the IMF. Before joining the Fund, she was an assistant professor of economics at Carlos III (Spain) and ITAM (Mexico). She received her PhD in Economics from Duke University in 2005. Her research interests lie in the areas of international macroeconomics, monetary economics and macroeconomics, with special emphasis on the subjects of sovereign debt, contagion of fiscal and financial crisis, and income inequality.
