Tao Sun

Tao Sun is currently deputy division chief of Payment, Currencies, and Infrastructure Division at the IMF. His recent work focused on digital currencies and cross-border payments He joined the Fund in May 2007 as an economist in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. He then worked as a senior economist in the Asia and Pacific Department at the IMF. He also worked as a senior director at Ant Group during 2015-2019. Tao Sun received his PhD in economics and started working first in the International Department and then the Financial Stability Bureau of the People’s Bank of China.
