Wilson Phiri

Wilson C.K. Phiri is a Senior Economist in the Balance of Payments Division of the Statistics Department of the IMF. Prior to joining the Fund in February 2022, he served as an Assistant Director responsible for Macroeconomic Analysis at the Bank of Zambia. Earlier, he was a Senior Economist - Balance of Payments at the same institution, which he served for 17 years. As an accredited fellow of the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa, he conducted several ESS technical assistance missions to SADC and COMESA countries. Wilson also served as a member of the IMF Balance of Payments Committee. He holds a PhD in Economics.
