Legal and Institutional Framework for Public Debt Management (LIDM)

This course aims to familiarize participants with sound legal frameworks institutional arrangements for sovereigns in managing their public debt and contingent liabilities. The course focuses on the importance of effective structures and legal frameworks, that supports the formulation and implementation of sound debt management policies and practices, sound governance mechanisms and enhanced debt transparency.
Target Audience
Mid to senior-level officials, including lawyers and legal advisors, from finance ministry, treasury department, debt management offices, cash management units, and central banks.
Qualifications
Participants are expected to have a degree in law, economics or finance, or equivalent experience, as well as at least five years of working experience in the relevant area of public sector.
