Target audience
- Government officials from ministries of finance, central banks, and other government agencies involved in monitoring and assessing the macroeconomic implications of climate change and related policies.
Qualifications and participant expectations
- Expected educational/experience background:
- Advanced degree in economics or equivalent experience.
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.
- Comfort using quantitative software such as EViews or Matlab (specific knowledge not required).
- Recommended prior training:
- Strong recommendation to have completed the online Financial Programming and Policies, Part 1: Macroeconomic Accounts and Analysis (FPP.1 x) along with the Public Debt Dynamic Tool (DDTx).
Course description and focus

- Equip participants with macroeconomic Excel-based frameworks, tools, and models for integrating climate considerations into policy formulation.
- Prepare participants to consider climate-related economic risks and vulnerabilities.

- Accounting for climate shocks in macroeconomic analysis.
- Evaluating public debt dynamics following natural disasters.
