Apply NowMid-level to senior officials from the central bank and other government agencies dealing with regulation of the financial sector. Preference is given to applicants working on issues directly related to financial development and inclusion, as well as supervision and regulation of new financial technologies.
This course is designed to give participants a foundation in understanding new financial technologies (fintech) and the associated policy implications. After an overview of the fintech landscape, the course focuses on several areas that are rapidly developing in recent years: fintech payments, fintech funding, crypto assets and decentralized finance. It discusses risks arising from fintech developments in these areas and explores possible policy responses. In addition to lectures, the course makes use of extensive case studies and group work to ensure that participants could gain practical experience that is useful for their jobs.
