Apply NowMid- to senior-level officials from ministries of finance and tax administrations whose responsibilities include leading a tax administration or tax administration functions and who are interested to strengthen and broaden their knowledge of managing a modern tax administration. Their duties are likely to include people and functional leadership, strategic planning and managing organizational, information technology, tax compliance, and other major tax functions and issues.
This course is presented jointly by the IMF Fiscal Affairs Department and the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA). It takes a practical approach to strengthening leadership, management and governance skills and is designed to broaden participants' knowledge of and approaches to the main challenges senior leaders face in administering, monitoring, and managing a modern tax administration.
Utilizing a blend of VITARA (Virtual Training to Advance Revenue Administration) products, participants will be introduced to modern and practical approaches across a range of areas, which may include:
Strategic management and the design and execution of organizational reforms.
Performance management and accountability.
Institutional and organizational arrangements, including organizational design, management, and governance, and people leadership.
Information technology and data management, and enterprise risk management.
Internationally recognized compliance risk management approaches covering core tax functions.
The course is intended to grow individual leadership capability and participants should be prepared to actively participate in group activities and discussions using real-life (anonymized) experiences.
