Overview

• The Regional Training Program for South America and Mexico (RTP) commenced in April 2025.
• The program is a collaboration between the IMF and the Institute of the Central Bank of Paraguay.
• It delivers in-person courses focused on:
  • macroeconomic management
  • fiscal and financial sector policies
  • statistics
  • emerging areas such as climate, gender, governance, and AML/CFT
• Courses are tailored to the needs of countries in the region, including Mexico and ten South American countries.

Selection Process and Financing

• Selection Process:
  • Candidates are nominated by government agencies at the request of the IMF department responsible for the course.
• Self-Financed Policy:
  • Candidates are to be considered self-financed.
  • Attending as self-financed provides the same access to course content and activities.
  • All associated costs (accommodation, travel, and per diem) need to be covered by the sponsoring institution.
