A technical assistance (TA) mission on external sector statistics (ESS) was conducted for the Andorran Statistics Department (ASD) in the Principality of Andorra in September 2023 (September 4–15, 2023).
Primary focuses:
- Preparing plans to improve the frequency of producing balance of payments statistics and international investment position (IIP) from annual to quarterly.
- Enhancing the coverage and quality of the balance of payments and IIP data.
- Assisting the ASD in establishing the framework of the quarterly enterprise survey to be used as one of the main source data for compiling balance of payments statistics and IIP quarterly.

The mission delivered technical guidance and support to transition the compilation frequency of balance of payments and IIP statistics from annual to quarterly.
The mission assisted in establishing the framework of the quarterly enterprise survey, intended as a key source for quarterly balance of payments and IIP compilation.
Emphasis was placed on improving data coverage and data quality for balance of payments and IIP statistics.
