The 2003 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund, along with related events, will be held in the Dubai International Convention Centre, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on September 18-24, 2003. The Press Room at the Dubai International Convention Centre will open on September 17, 2003 to enable news organizations to set up their equipment.

Press Accreditation and Registration

The World Bank Group and IMF welcome journalists at their meetings. The deadline for filing accreditation requests was September 10, 2003.

To be accredited, journalists must hold valid press credentials, or prove their professional journalistic bona fides. Freelance journalists will not be accredited unless they provide an assignment letter from a news organization or publication. Academics, students, and public relations professionals cannot be accredited as press for the Meetings and should apply for Visitors credentials. Information on Visitors credentials is available at http://www.imf.org/external/am/2003/contact.htm.

Non-governmental organizations will be allowed at the discretion of the World Bank Group and IMF to secure one, non-transferable NGO Press credential per organization.

Journalists who have secured accreditation can pick up credentials for the Meetings at the Dubai International Convention Centre between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. starting September 15, 2003. Journalists must come in person, and must show photo identification, when picking up credentials.
